Amenkarookind, born Wildre Kammies, is a dynamic hip hop and trap artist from the small town of Jansenville. His love for music began during his high school years, where he discovered his passion for performance and expression. In Grade 11, he performed with his group Deuces Wild at the Mohair Festival, sparking the beginning of his journey as a performer.In 2018, Wildre officially launched his solo career under the name Amenkarookind. That same year, he founded his own local festival, creating a platform for himself and other emerging artists to showcase their talents, while celebrating the rich culture and creativity of the Sarah Baartman District. His commitment to promoting local arts continues to shine through his music, events, and collaborations.Over the years, Amenkarookind has built a strong digital presence, gaining more than 30,000 followers across Meta platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. His music and artistry have also taken him to larger stages, including multiple appearances at the prestigious National Arts Festival Fringe, where he continues to grow his reputation as an energetic and impactful performer.Beyond his musical career, Amenkarookind uses his platform to advocate for social causes, particularly raising awareness against gender-based violence.
